Chocolate Cake topped with Jaffas

Ingredients

CHOCOLATE CAKE:

  • 18g butter
  • 110g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 200g NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Dark Chocolate Block, melted
  • 2 tbsp NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Baking Cocoa
  • 185g self-raising flour
  • 125 mL NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 60 mL water
  • 250g ALLEN’S JAFFAS
CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
  • 2 tbsp NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Baking Cocoa
  • 100g butter, softened
  • 3 tbsp icing sugar mixture
  • 200g NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Dark Chocolate Block, melted

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/ 160°C fan forced. Grease and line a 20cm deep round cake tin with baking paper.
  2. Using an electric mixer beat butter and sugar together until light and creamy. Beat in eggs one at a time then beat in NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Dark Chocolate Block.
  3. Fold in sifted NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Baking Cocoa, flour, NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk and water. Spoon into prepared tin and bake 50-60 minutes until cooked.
  4. Remove from tin and cool on a wire rack. Make frosting.
  5. To make frosting; in a medium bowl whisk together NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Baking Cocoa and ¼ cup (60mL) warm water until dissolved. Using an electric mixer, beat butter and icing sugar until pale and fluffy, gradually beat in melted NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Dark Chocolate Block and cocoa mixture, until combined, cool for 30 minutes.
  6. Spread icing over sides and top of cake, top with ALLEN’S JAFFAS.
