At Cornetts Supermarkets we love to help our local communities and continually strive to give back. From supporting local schools and sporting clubs to community groups and charity fundraisers we love to get involved.
Drought Angels are a non for profit charity raising money to support farming families and communities that have been affected by drought. They provide Food Hampers, Care Packages, Pre-paid Visa cards, Stock feed, Hay/Pet Food and more to families that are doing it tough and need a helping hand. So far Cornetts Supermarkets along with their customers have raised over $17,345 for the charity.
Cornetts Supermarkets have supported Guide Dog Queensland since 2012, raising well over $160,000 for the Charity. So far the money raised has enabled Cornetts to sponsor three litters of puppies into guide dog training program. Cornetts will continue to support Guide Dogs Queensland through their annual Golf Day and are proud to be a major sponsor to such a valuable service for the visually impaired.
Guide Dogs Queensland provides Queenslanders who are blind or vison impaired freedom, mobility and independence through its orientation and mobility services.
The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride raises money for children living in rural and remote areas of North Queensland. The seven day event which has been running for the past 14 years brings together over 260 riders and more than 100 support volunteers. For the past 3 years Cornetts Supermarkets has been a major sponsor of the event providing food and beverages for competitors and volunteers. To date this event has raised and distributed in excess of $1,140,000 for rural Queensland children and Cornetts Supermarkets are excited to be part of it again this year.
